This week Labour were proud to bring a motion to Council celebrating the life and legacy of the late Dave Skinner.
Dave, who sadly left us in March last year at the age of 73, was not merely the Co-Chairman of Dartford Football Club – he was its saviour and the embodiment of our community’s spirit and without his extraordinary efforts, there would simply be no football club.
Labour proposed creating the Dave Skinner Garden of Reflection at Princes Park – a space where residents, supporters, and future generations can pause not only to reflect on his remarkable contributions but to their own loved ones and friends.
Cllr Darren Povey, who proposed the motion, said
“Dave Skinner was “Mr. Dartford” and without him, Dartford Football Club would be a memory rather than the vibrant institution it is today. I’m proud to be able to bring a motion to honour a man who was not just a leader, but the very embodiment of Dartford’s pride and passion.”
