Bachchu is a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Management and Leadership at Anglia Ruskin University. He is a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and Fellow of Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH) in the UK. He has more than 32 years of experience in managing and leading health services in the UK and Nepal.

Prior to joining ARU, Bachchu was working as a Senior Manager for an NHS hospital in London. Outside of the NHS, some of Bachchu’s other roles in health services include Consultant of USAID’s Strengthening System for Better Health in Nepal, Head of Operations of a tertiary care hospital, and Programme Officer of an NGO.

Bachchu has represented Joyce Green ward of Dartford Council, and was the Labour parliamentary candidate in 2017; believed to be the only parliamentary candidate of Nepali heritage ever to stand.
