Losing your home is an unimaginable trauma for too many families in Dartford. It’s even worse if you are then uprooted from your job, your friends, your children’s school. The number of families with children being placed in temporary accommodation outside of Dartford has doubled in the last three years.

Last night at Dartford Council, Labour Councillors secured a debate on the support our families who find themselves in this situation receive. As a result, the Council will now review the support provided and experience of, families who find themselves in temporary accommodation, away from home. ‘No fault’ evictions are unfair, unnecessary and have made the housing crisis in Dartford, and the country, much worse. The Labour government will abolish this practice and make renting safer and more secure for everyone.
