Repair Our Roads

  • You know how many potholes blight our roads in (division name) – they are dangerous and can end up costing you hundreds of pounds on repairs.
  • After years of neglect, Labour is tackling the potholes epidemic than ran wild under the previous Conservative Government.
  • The Labour government has given Kent County Council an extra £54m to fix potholes – they’ve now got to use it. If you elect your Labour candidate as your County Councillor, They’ll hold the Council to account to make sure they use this money to repair roads in our area.
  • Labour is fixing our roads that were broken by the Tories. On May 1st vote for change in Kent. Only Labour will turn it around in Dartford.

Lower Thames Crossing

  • Last month we had the fantastic news that the Labour government has approved the Lower Thames Crossing.
  • This is brilliant news for Dartford, and shows the difference a Labour government makes. We have suffered from the congestion caused by existing crossing for far too long. Too often local traffic is gridlocked and it’s impossible to get around. The air pollution caused by congestion is damaging our health.
  • After years of delay from the previous Conservative government, Labour are taking the action needed to get Dartford moving again but we cannot take the progress we are making for granted.
  • Reform UK oppose building the new crossing. So do the Green Party. After 16 years of delay, the Conservatives cannot be trusted to deliver the crossing.
  • Don’t risk Reform and the Conservatives turning back the clock and causing more congestion and gridlock on our roads. Only a vote for Labour on May 1st will make sure the crossing gets built so we can get Dartford moving again.

SEND / Grade A Education

  • Children in Dartford deserve the very best start in life – that means access to good schools, real action to keep them safe, and support for parents with the cost of living.
  • School uniform shouldn’t break the bank, and we can’t have a situation where parents in Dartford can’t afford to work because the cost of early morning childcare means work doesn’t pay.
  • Labour are taking action to reduce the cost of school uniforms by £50 a year, and free Breakfast Clubs could save parents another £450.
  • Labour is starting to roll out free breakfast clubs – the first in our area at Knockhall school.
  • Conservative run Kent County Council have broken the SEND system. It doesn’t work for children, and it doesn’t work for their families. Every day families are faced with delays and barriers that fail to meet children’s needs.
  • You deserve better. If you elect your Labour candidate as your County Councillor on May 1st they will always fight for our SEND families and work every day to ensure all our children get the best start in life

Tackling Tory Waste

  • You will have recently received for new Council Tax bill and seen it’s gone up again.
  • Conservative run Kent County Council hiked bills by 5% this year. You are paying more and getting less.
  • Council Tax is lower under Labour – and here in Darford, under the Conservatives, your Council Tax bill is higher than the average Labour controlled Council.
  • Labour authorities keep council tax low whilst investing more in the services we know people want to see their councils deliver – from keeping people safe, to growing the local economy.
  • Vote Labour on May 1st and that’s exactly what we will deliver. We’ll end the Conservatives reckless spending, we’ll invest smartly and put money into the frontline services that will actually work.
  • On May 1st vote for change in Kent. Only Labour will turn it around in Dartford.
