Sarah Jones MP, who is the Minister of State for Industry, came to Swanscombe today to support the campaign of Claire Pearce, who is standing for Labour to be the county councillor for Swanscombe, Greenhithe, and Ebbsfleet. She was keen to talk with local residents about the issues that matter to them.

Claire said: “I really appreciated ministerial support; Swanscombe’s had a tough time over the last few years; and it’s clear the future of local people is best served by Labour, who are working together to get the town moving again. Kent County Council needs a boot up the backside, and that’s what I plan to do if I’m elected. This isn’t a time for posturing, but for getting agencies together to deliver: on transport, education, and social care in particular. Getting Galley Hill reopened is an absolute must. The delay has been awful, and has brought misery to so many.”

Polling day is on Thursday 1st May; polling cards are being sent out now. If you want a postal vote, contact Electoral Registration.
